Mcas Yuma Mcx - Welcome to Marine Corps Air Station Utah, Arizona. MCAS Uma is an air base that provides access to more than 1 million acres of bombing and aviation-training ranges.
MCAS supports 80 percent of the Marine Corps' air-to-ground aviation training. Weapons and tactics instructor courses are held twice a year at the airport. This seven-week course provides advanced tactical aviation training.

MCMA The MCMA has approximately 4,000 active duty Marines and Sailors. And each year, the station receives about 70 aviation units, which on average transport 600 aircraft and 14,000 personnel to the air station.

While many military family members call the primary residence their home, others prefer to live in nearby communities. San Luis, Somerton, Uma, Uma Mountains, Winterhaven, California and other neighboring communities provide housing, employment and other services for MCAS Uma military families.
Rentals in the community are limited from October to April, when snowbirds are in high demand. Housing and utility costs for the district may exceed BAH. Before you rent or buy local housing, do your research. For more information, contact an MCAS Information, Transfer and Referral Specialist.
The city of Omaha, just outside the MCAS, offers residents a short commute to the airport. The city has a population of approximately 98,000.

Uma has many outdoor activities. Go tubing down the Colorado River, hike the Imperial Sand Dunes Trail or visit the Uma Crossing National Heritage Area. More outdoor adventures can be had in city parks. The city maintains over 600 acres of parks and facilities, including nine sports complexes, two golf courses, outdoor sports courts, walking trails, a dog park, and more.

Uma is home to major historic sites, such as the Uma Territorial Prison State Historic Park, the Colorado River State Historic Park, the historic Uma Theater, and the Casca Dome Excavation Museum.

MCAS Utah has many options for your child's education. Arizona offers traditional public schools as well as public charter schools and private schools. Local childcare and childcare programs are available on and off the station for young children.
Children who live in MCMA can attend Umama Elementary School and Umama Union High School. Children living in the 16th Street housing complex live within the boundaries of Crane School and Utah Union High School. There are no DoDEA schools at airports.

MCAS Utah has a dry, desert climate with sunny days throughout the year. The area receives only 3 inches of rain per year.
During the winter, MCAS averages in the upper 60s and 70s. Average lows fall into the 40s and 50s.

Summer average highs are over 100 degrees. Summer nights are slightly cooler with average lows in the 70s and 80s. Low humidity helps keep things more durable during the hot summer months.
